The Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST) marked a significant milestone in its international engagement with a formal presentation held at the prestigious Auditorium dell'Ara Pacis in Rome, under the patronage of Roma Capitale. The event brought together representatives from government, academia, business, and civil society to advance dialogue on sustainability, innovation, and global cooperation.
NST extends its sincere gratitude to Roma Capitale and to Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, whose welcome address officially opened the proceedings and reaffirmed Rome's commitment to supporting global sustainability initiatives. Opening remarks were also delivered by Clelia Piperno, President of Mosaikon, the organization that promoted the initiative in Italy.
Delivering the keynote address, Peter Nobel, Chairman of the Nobel Sustainability Trust, described sustainability as one of the defining system transformations of our time. Framed around the concept of “A World in Balance”, he emphasized the interconnectedness of environmental, economic, and societal systems and the growing need to scale scientifically grounded solutions. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between science, industry, policy, and capital, and reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to accelerating the transition from innovation and research to measurable real-world impact.
The program featured distinguished contributions from leading figures in sustainability, science, and academia, including Professor Andrea Lenzi, President of Italy's National Research Council (CNR); Simona Roveda, Co-Founder and Editorial Director of LifeGate; and Professor Fabio Iraldo of Bocconi University, one of Italy's leading experts in sustainability and environmental management.
The Rome presentation served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration with key Italian institutions and partners. NST looks forward to deepening its cooperation with Roma Capitale, Mosaikon and the National Research Council (CNR), and a growing network of Italian and international organizations committed to advancing sustainable development, scientific innovation, and responsible leadership.
