Two selection committees are in charge of evaluating the nominations and selecting the awardees.

Pre-Selection Committee
The international Pre-Selection Committee consists of 10 to 15 international professors, researchers, and entrepreneurs. These highly renowned experts are identified yearly by the NST and TUM depending on the topics of the award.
